I got your attention didn't I? I bet you thought that we were doing some sort of art project didn't you? Of course there is Elephant Poop paper! And I guess if you were bold enough you could make paper out of lots of different kinds of herbivore poo. But I painted wooden poop today for a story fella from the book, The Story of the Little Mole Who Went in Search of Whodunit by Werner Holzwarth. This book has everyone giggling. And I really love books that get my boys giggling. It's just a hilarious book about poop and I found out about it at Bottom Shelf Books. I highly recommend it and there is one little fella in the shop. Just in case poo is as popular at your house as it is at ours.
Another book I am in love with; because I really love children's books too, is Beegu. Boys like it too, but it's short. I wish it were longer because the end comes and I want more! Alexis Deacon is fabulous! A wonderful author and a wonderful illustrator. I look forward to following his career and I am confident we will love everything he puts out into the world. A big hit at our house is Jitterbug Jam. Not written by him but illustrated. I am going to make a story set for this book soon. I can't help myself. My boys need them.
Today I made the boys itty bitty books for making wordless books. They are so great! They are so cute and small. And it's great concentration work. It's hard to draw so small. The covers are made of prairie and wildflower grass paper. Gorgeous! And the pink itty bitty books are for the itty bitty things they are looking at with their new microscope. That I would not have been able to purchase without my etsy shop. Thank you! It's fabulous and I recommend it highly! We have always used old used microscopes from second hand stores. And it was just time to give it up. This microscope uses no battery operated lights. Score! It's easy to use. And it's built sturdy and strong. Love it! I purchased it at The Spangler Shop. Today we looked at an old dried out polypore. Gilled mushrom, dandelions, shells and seeds. Fascinating.
The weather has been so great. It's snowing elm tree seeds everywhere and we are starting to see more and more butterflies and moths. We are ankle deep in spring and I am excited to be knee deep soon.
Happy Thursday!

I haven't read this book yet, but I'm reminded of the story my mom told that she heard in Germany about some kids who threw a "horse apple" at a man and it landed in his mouth. He somehow was able to shout, "This is staying here until the police arrive!"
