I purchased this catapult from a very talented wood crafter on etsy for Lucas' birthday. It came with wonderful little bean bags, but the boys have been launching wooden acorns with it and having a blast. So I painted six of them in rainbow colors and Lucas made a rainbow target with me and we made a game of it. The acorns are such a steal at .29 per that I bought a bunch of them a year ago and use them for all kinds of things. The possibilities are endless! These are the things we do on a rainy day :)

Hi Lorilee-
Would you be willing to share your technique for painting the acorns? I love the soft finish on all of your wood pieces and would like to achieve the same look. As I mentioned above, I purchased the catapult (and the acorns) and need to finish those before Christmas. The acorns are beautiful naked but I do love your colored ones! Any help would be appreciated greatly!!

YEAH!! My catapult came in the mail last Friday and the acorns have arrived! I'm so excited to give this gift to my son (8) for Christmas. This year we've vowed to gift handmade as much as possible and this will be perfect! Thanks for the post.
